If you’re really passionate about Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths, and you’re in Grade 11, there is an amazing opportunity available for you to undertake - the National Youth Science Forum Year 12 Program.
I participated in the NYSF Year 12 Program, during the Summer Holidays last year. The program is a 12-day camp held during the summer holidays at the Australian National University. It's a renowned program recognised all over Australia and is definitely something you should check out. The program is designed for next year's Year 12 students to see the diverse study and career options available in STEM.
By going to the camp, you are given rare opportunities like:
listening to leading researchers and lecturers, from around the globe
visiting the Australian National University's laboratories and facilities and living on campus
going on site tours to visit research facilities
taking part in workshops, social events, and so much more
Previous years’ attendees highly recommend the program and want to encourage as many Year 11s as possible to apply. It's incredibly eye-opening because of the scientific real-world insight it provides, but you also have the opportunity to meet and network with some really inspirational people who are already successful in STEM fields.
The highlight of the program is the fellow students and staff. You'll form great friendships with so many amazing people!
Applications are open until the 31st of May, so check out more details at https://www.nysf.edu.au/programs/year-12-program/ .
